Dr Yasir Rahman
Dr Yasir Rahman is a UK-qualified medical doctor specialising as an Occupational Health Physician, with a core experience in hospital medicine including elderly care, disability medicine, and workplace health/occupational medicine. His work has centred on supporting individuals to regain independence, function, and confidence following illness, injury, or long-term conditions, including through his experience working on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
He co-founded The Care App with a clear vision: to raise the standard of how care is accessed by bringing greater trust, transparency, and reliability to families seeking support. Drawing on his clinical background, Yasir is focused on building a model that prioritises safety, accountability and trust, while enabling people to access care in a more flexible and practical way.
This vision is also grounded in personal experience. Growing up, Yasir’s grandmother, who lived with him, had severe dementia, was cared for at home by his family, with carers supporting her throughout the day. This shaped the day-to-day reality of his household, from relying on carers to managing care around family life.
Through this, he saw first-hand how difficult and important it is to find reliable carers, especially at short notice or in urgent situations, and how vital it is for care to be not only dependable, but trustworthy, accessible and easily available.
